Shanda's Shower

Shanda (my sis) had her wedding shower last Saturday. Several of the ladies who teach with my mom put it on for her. It was a wonderful shower, and they got lots of nice things. Shanda and Sean should be all set to move to Houston in a few weeks (even though I will be sad that she is not in Amarillo anymore).

Cal and Val

Last Saturday, our friends Calvin and Valarie tied the knot:) Drew and Calvin have been good friends since high school. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony, held in the Thompson's backyard with Lake Tanglewood in the background. Words can't express how excited and happy we are for them as they start their life together. Love you guys!

Drew had knee surgery on Monday (July 14th). He had some dead cartilage taken out, microfracture drilling in his femur, and a lateral release to his patella. Thank you everyone who was praying for him! The surgery went well, and he is beginning to feel better. It is going to be an 8 month healing process, and I know it will be hard for him to stay down for that long.

Here is a pic of the CPM machine he had to stay in for 48 hrs straight after the surgery. Now he has to wear it for 6-8 hrs every day for 3 more weeks!

This ice machine has been a life-saver this week! It has been Andrew's favorite thing, especially in the first few days after the surgery.

Happy 4th of July!

This year, on July 4th, we joined the Lackey clan and headed to the cabin in New Mexico. We had a great time! We played frisbee golf, cooked lots of good food, and played games. Caesar joined us this trip, and had the time of his life.

The whole crew!

Drew and I made this yummy flag cake. (not quite Martha Stewart, I know..) It was really good, though. The bottom was made of sugar cookie, with whipped cream on top, and berries to make the flag.
Go away cow! Caesar barked and the cow went running!
